Win or Go Home Part II

Okay folklore, I know I haven't been keeping up but it damn sure ain't because I'm out of material. Have you played GTA IV!? I rest my case.

Round One is over and both of my UPSET SPECIALS were upsetting to say the least, at most they were dismal. That only means two things, one Mike D'Antoni, coach of the PHX Suns, is O-U-T out! See ya! But not as quick as that silly negro Avery who looks to be heading to NYC hmmm, destined for failure for sure! And two (which I almost forgot until I almost clicked publish) GILBERT "Agent Zero" Arenas hits that free agent block to see some serious Payola.

All you queers in the capital are like "he said he's coming back after he takes a pay cut and Antwan gets his" yeah I read that same story. If you believe everything you read you must be republican and think that are soldiers are in Iraq STILL, for WPD (that's weapons of mass destruction for those of you who probably think they are) Arenas is not coming back, I don't give a damn what he says, he's going to be the highest paid free agent on the block and this Agent damn sure ain't going to give Washington another free pass the way they've been dealt with in the last few years post regular season. Ha! Gilbert stays in Washington? For what? To keep the team together, and let the next man get a larger check because his big check days are just about over? No way jose! Gilbert is like 24 or 25 not much older than me might I add, and as much money as he has, he's got children and a baby mama, who he ain't married to who could up and demand that CHSUP at any moment. (that's Child Support for ya'll who are lucky enough to never have seen that on a pay stub, lol) But since I'm in the business of talking smack on my blogs and making predicitions I'm going to say Gilbert is going going back back to Cali Cali and either becomes the new big time LA superstar and goes to The Clipp show which I doubt and if my doubts are correct he signs with...Sacremento and finally give Ronnie some bump fists with :-)

Byron Scott won coach of the year, like I said, Turk got his hardware, (patting myself on the back) and Kobe is your MVP whether you like it or not (doing the jordan fist seen above, as I'm happy for him) I'm still shocked that he got it all though I said he'd get it because this shit is all POLITICS and white folk sho' know how to stick it to a black man, ESPECIALLY in Pennsylvania.

Lakers are up 1-0 over the Jazz, Hornets up 2-0 over the Spurs, Pistons are up 2-0 over Magic and Celtic Pride takes on the King and his Cavaliers tonight (CLE steals game one in Beantown I'm calling it). I know it's late to make predictions for round 2 but I'm going to do us all a favor and make the final predictions all the way down to the World Champ.

Lakers win in 5 over Utah, Hornets win in 6 over San Antone (I know the spelling is incorrect) Pistons are going to let the very next game in O-Town slip but they will prevail after 5 and Boston LOSES, yes I said it, Boston LOSES in game 7 to the Cavaliers.

Which will lead to LAL knocking off NO and KB24 formerly KB8 tells CP3 CUL8R after 5 and DET wins in 6 over CLE. Leading to a rematch of the NBA 'Chip of 2004 when Phil and the Purp Gang lost to Larry Love Brown and his mighty Pistons, only this time my man and woman, there is no lazy Shaquille to not step up to the plate, and Mr. MVP Bryant finally, finally, gets that monkey off his back and wins "one without Shaq." (Doing the Jordan fist yet again, seen above)

Speaking of which I want to touch on something, first of all I want to say "fuck off" to all the Kobe haters. You can't hate his game, regardless of what you say. That's number one, and he is number one, in the world right now and has been for at least 2 years. And number two, stop riding Shaq's penis by saying, "Oh Kobe hasn't won without Shaq," that's true, but Shaq didn't win shit until PHIL, PHIL was the missing piece in LA and he proved that when he got KURT RAMBIS up out the coaching seat. Yes Shaq won ONE championship on a team that Kobe was not on, but he had ANOTHER SUPERSTAR on the team by the name of DWADE who led his team in scoring, along with a bunch of veteran role players like GP, Zo and all those other guys. Not to mention a hall of fame coach by the name of Riley who took over because Van Gundy's can't get it done...note my take on the DET v ORL series...nevertheless MIA had a Squad my friends a Squizzad. Who proved to be a fluke with all those old ass players and MIA has been inhaling vigorously ever since. (Anybody seen Antoine Walker lately, he's a UK guy. I'm a UK fan til death and as a fan of the game I know when to say it's OVER so for BOS and Rondo, another UK guy, it's over)

If you missed the picks through all that jargon Los Angeles wins the NBA Championship over "what they want, flip, flip, flip, flip" Saunders' Pistons, which means for him it is "Game Over" in more ways than one. Thus he's ALL ABOARD, laid back on that midnight train to Georgia along with Avery, and D'Antoni, lookin for werrrk. Chuuuuuch! But that's soley What JLB THINKS...until next time, beaches!

Discharged

Haters and Bloggers alike! What it is folks? I've been on my JT shit, not nsync with what's been going on in the world the last few. My momma had to undergo surgery and all my attention has been diverted to that. Now that she's been discharged and is home sound asleep, I can get back to this blog life.

I must admit, it's only been a few days and I was already getting a little blogsick but today's post is going to be a refresher for not only myself but for all you haters and bloggers alike. No one topic to focus on today but I wanna touch on a few things ;-) Ladies...

It's been announced, K.G. Defensive POY! Ginobli Sixth Man of the Year (big shocker there). If anybody saw the Wiz get thumped last night or at least had to be reduced to watching updates on your mobile device like I did, you would have seen the actual footage or boxscore of a man possessed by the name of LeBron. Yeah, I know, I called an upset in the series which at this point it means the Wizards have to win 4 of the next 5 games if it makes it that far. 7 points for Gil, a combined 10-36 FG from the BIG 3 in Butler, Jamison, and Arenas?? That ain't gonna get it done in NO GAME. Luckily for them no suspension for Brendan Haywood. Spurs vs Suns tonight, I think the Suns'll bounce back from that instant classic, Magic and Raptors play tonight as well as the Mavs and Hornets.

Transitioning from NBA to music, I just read Soulja Boy was 'offended' by the statement LeBron made about the Wizards' DeShawn Stevenson trash talk. Bron Bron said for him to respond to DeShawn, would be like Jay responding to Soulja Boy Tellem. And this guy has the right to be "offended" like he's talented or something. Hey Soulja Boy, let me tell you something...Fuck Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. The only reason anybody knows about your recent emotions of offense is because it's been a slow news day.

So apparently Fiddy Sense is pissed off at A. Keys over some statements she made about "gangsta rap" and making an example out of him. He openly admitted that he's no longer a fan of hers, big deal! He cried his river, now get over that shit! Guess Fif didn't like the fact that there is actually one woman on the face of the planet that ain't on his dick.

Speaking of Fif and things he doesn't like apparently Young Buck's alleged drug abuse was a one of them and he gave Buck the G-Unit Boot as a result. Hmmm when have we heard of a record company boss exiling a rapper over drug abuse. I'm not sure it ever happened because this business is all about that Cash Money...I wonder how B.G.'s doing?

Sticking with the hip-hop theme for a moment, Nasir Jones, that crazy nigger has a new song out. Any guesses as to what it's about? "Be a Nigger Too," is the title. I'm in full support of NaS and his attack/approach with this album. I'm interested as to see how many spins this N word plagued track gets on terrestrial radio. Peep the audio below to give it a listen. If ya'll don't think Esco's the most daring nigger in hip-hop, then you're just as crazy as that nigger is...but that's just What JLB Thinks

Win or Go Home

Yes ladies and gents one of my favorite times of the year has finally arrived! The weather is breaking and so are the hearts of young women whose men are catching that spring fever.

The NBA Playoffs are here and boy do we have one hell of a lineup this year. They say the west coast is the best coast so let's start there. The brackets are as follows:

1 Lakers vs 8 Nuggets; 2 Hornets vs 7 Mavericks; 3 Spurs vs 6 Suns; 4 Jazz vs 5 Rockets.

In the Eastern Conference we have:

1 Celtics vs 8 Hawks; 2 Pistons vs 7 Sixers; 3 Orlando vs 6 Toronto; 4 Cavaliers vs 5 Wizards

I foresee the first round playoffs playing-off like this, In the East the I have the Celtics, Pistons, Magic, and my upset special WIZARDS surviving round one after 7 games of Wizardry.

In Kool Moe Dee's "Wild Wild West" the Lakers will prevail after six games, Hornets will Sting the Mavs and move on, Jazz will slip past the Rockets, and in my upset special SUNS will do everyone a favor and get rid of the Spurs in a 7 game punch-out. Let's not forget how they had the Spurs on the edge until the entire Suns team got suspended last year and Nash was playing 1-on-5 basketball.

If the Enver (no D) Nuggets lose which I think they will don't be suprised if Coach Karl quits and Mr. Allen Iverson's favorite coach Larry Brown steps up to finally bring a Defensive mindset to Denver. Now that Mark Jackson has quit his commentating job, he's the next coach for the NY Knickerbockers...let's watch and see.

LeBron with his 30.0 PPG is without a doubt the Scoring Champ this year, I think Kobe deserves the MVP crown because he held the team down after Bynum went down after 30 some odd games and Gasol has only been there for about 30. Kobe does have a rep of being a cocky bastard and who can forget about that precious white woman he sodomized? (The NBA frowns upon that) Don't be surprised if he's robbed and they give it to baby face CP3 Chris Paul who is the poster boy for youth and purity in this league. With that being said Byron Scott is my pick for Coach of the Year, Manu Ginobli will be Sixth Man of the Year, and Hedo Turkoglu will be the Best Improved Player for the 2nd time in his career.

I'm inclined to predict the entire playoff picture down to the world champion but I have to give you guys a reason to keep checking back to the blog. You can agree with me or disagree but it doesn't matter when it comes to sports because this is soley What JLB Thinks.

Miserable Sports Cities

So I just read a recent article published on Forbes.com and they listed the 10 Most Miserable Sports Cities. Basically what they did was looked at the cities that have cumulative 75 years of Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, and of course Pigskin. With that being said, the researchers ranked the cities by there teams' records in championship games or series, semifinal games or series, number of pre-semifinal losses, total championships, and amount of years since city's last championship.

According to this article the derrty derrty, Hotlanta is the number one worst city in America's professional sports considering the stats. Thank God for Magic City. Where else would players from the Hawks or Falcons go after a disappointing loss? Home to there wives? Dog pound, maybe? At any rate the stats are as follows: ATL teams are 1-5 in championship games/series, 6-9 semifinals, total season to championship ratio is 142:1, and have a drought of 13 years since the city last seen a title. "Welcome to Atlanta where the players play..." apparently not!

A roasting of hottest city in the south, (pun intended) would be perfect if my closest of friends, or any one person in my Fave5 were from Atlanta. BUT! since they are not, and I myself am from Philly as most of my loved ones are, I can't let Philly slide seeing as they made the Top 10 of the most miserable sports cities according to Forbes.com.

The city of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection, my home town, ranks 9th on this list.  My city has some of the most dedicated fans which is ironic given the circumstances. Philly teams are 14-18 in championship games/series, 32-21 in semifinal games/series, total season to early playoff round loss ratio of 338:73, have a total season to championship ratio of 338:14, and have a 25-yr championship drought. The most championships any one team in Philly has seen is 5 by the A's who now swing for the fences in Oakland and they left Philly in 1955. Since 1980 the four teams we salute now share a 1-10 championship record.

Other cities that made the Top 10 are Seattle (poor Durant) getting the silver medal, Buffalo gets the bronze (no kidding!?!?), Phoenix at 4th, San Diego at 5th, Houston 6th, Denver 7th, Cleveland 8th, and the twin cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul at 10th. What there is to gain from this is, winning seasons mean nothing without championships. Of these miserable cities I'm going on record to say that Philly will be the next city to bring home the hardware and that is an utterly biased opinion. But for the sake of this being my blog excluding Philly, with King James at the throne Cleveland will be the next city to bring a championship home...but that's just What JLB Thinks
