I've been riding this high for 4 days now and I'm starting to come back down. Saturday, May 10, 2008 was one of the biggest, best, moments in my life as a fan of music.

I attended the Glow In The Dark Tour (GITDT) featuring Lupe Fiasco, N*E*R*D, Rihanna, and Mr. Kanye West. If I didn't know any better I would think that Kia Shine had saw the same exact show before he thought of releasing the track he has entitled "WOW" because WOW was indeed the case that day.

If you know anybody who is attending any of the GITDT shows forewarn them that although there is nothing but colored folks on the bill, they most certainly are not starting on CPT (Colored People Time). The show I attended in Bristow, Va was scheduled to begin @ 6:30pm and Fiasco was midway through "Hip-Hop Saved My Life" by the time I got to my seat @ 6:34pm. SPEAKING of HIP-HOP and how it saves lives, I would like to say that Nikki Jean who also performed on stage during that song, is by far, one of the most beautiful women on the face of the planet. This I know because I saw her walking around during an intermission and we were like 3 feet away from each other. I was secretly obsessing over her and l'd like to go on record by saying I still am, except publicly now. WOW to Nikki Jean.

The night was full of WOW moments. Lupe had the shittiest set to be honest, and I'm a Lupe fan to (the) "death..." of the cool. But he went on first and usually when you go on first you kind of have to get the crowd excited, the problem is there was pretty much nobody there. I've seen Lupe perform at least 4 times and I've enjoyed each one, this one was by far the worst, not due to Lu, but just because there wasn't many people there to scream and shout when he found out that he "are what you say you are, a superstar." Matthew Santos as well as Miss Sarah Green are so vocally talented, it's tough to determine the real on a cd but in live and in color, they were both equally impressive.

After I saw Nikki Jean after Lupe's set and I came to my senses, I realized I wasn't seeing things, but in fact I was. I was Seeing Sounds (June 10th). N*E*R*D rocked, and I mean rocked the crowd so hard, that Chris Brown came out and "Spazz" out a little bit on stage and in the front row of the crowd while they were performing. It was definitely a WOW moment. Then they played my shit, Everyone Nose, which the video should be dropping soon and I was geeking. Jumping up and down in my seat like my momma ain't teach me no better.

Rihanna looks so soft....

Rihanna is like the heir to Beyonce's so-called throne. Initially I wasn't too fond of her as a performer until I saw her live and she doesn't give a half bad show to be Frank. To be Earnest, she looks as if you touch her you'll melt, she just looks that damn soft. Her stage presence is a lot like Bey's which is why I say she's heir to the thrown because she's been putting out hit after hit after hit in a faster pace than I've seen any female R&B singer. It's almost to the point where it's scheduled maintenance. Did I mention Rihanna looks so soft? WOW.

Wake up Mr. West....

I honestly had no idea what to expect from Kanye. I've seen Kanye perform back in the day when he was on the bill with Usher and Christina Milian was the opening act. That show was crazy but it was all about Ush and Kanye only had one album out at the time, not a lot of material to perform, mostly shit to talk. This was HIS show and HE stole the show. By the time Yeezy woke up on stage to the drum of "Graduation" I was already thinking that this show was on some next level tip, out of this world if you will. Ironically enough that's the vibe Yay was going for as he stuck to this outer space theme with his special effects of shooting stars and spaceshps. The stage that folk have been showing in the blogs and on hip-hop sites was done NO JUSTICE on the wireless web and could only truly be appreciated in person. The stage itself was its own stage on the stage if that makes sense, the band was all behind the stage, so all you got was Kanye and special effects courtesy of Muppet Babies' Jim Henson. From Fog spraying everywhere like champagne on a dumbed down verse, to the hydraulics of the stage moving Kanye above and beyond the crowd it was definitely a WOW moment. I was speechless, I took as many pictures as I could although security told me numerous times to put the camera away, but fuck them! and that's where I stood. Because the show was 21,000 people in attendance and at least 2,000 had cameras. It seems as is they are filming the tour for a movie, because they had their own cameras from all sorts of angles, broadcasting on the big screen for those who were unfortunate enough to only snag a lawn seat ticket.

If there is a DVD release for the concert, I'm definitely buying, and I encourage everybody else to do the same. Even if your not a fan of his, the performance in itself was worth the purchase...but that's just What JLB Thinks..and knows in this case.
